buckets as we pass through your town!

Ahipara School Project
March 21, 2017
A working bee at Ahipara School, on the 22nd March as part of the 2017 Trillian Trek, saw Trek teams scattered around the grounds building planter boxes, digging steps, painting the roof and even sanding wooden fish to decorate the school. Anything that needed doing was achieved in one afternoon, with Bluelight and Trek officials throwing themselves into it too.

The Trillian Trek 2017
March 17, 2017
1700 kilometres, 135 people, 34 vehicles, 20+ schools and a heap of communities between Matamata and Cape Reinga - The Trillian Trek 2017 is coming to a town near you! Kids from Matamata to Cape Reinga will get a treat when the Trillian Trek launches on March 19th.
If you live along the route keep an eye out for updates nearer the time and come and say hi!

What's that under the hood?
March 12, 2017
Broken down? Call the AA - or better yet, add the RNZAF into the mix. Both organisations have supported Kiwi kids in need by spannering for us for many years, and 2017 will be no different.
Classic cars and fire engines travelling some of NZ's roughest roads are bound to hit problems. The RNZAF sends young mechanics to learn how to handle breakdowns of unfamiliar vehicles well off the beaten track. The AA? They do that stuff all the time. The two crews split up or help each other, whatever's required. Come and talk to them when you see them at work on the Trek next week!

Feeding the Trekkers
March 09, 2017
With over 500 people expected to breakfast at the Matamata start, and Trekkers to be fed throughout the Trillian Trek, it's not only the teams getting ready. The officials manning the BBQ have had to plan meals and provisions, and thanks to a few generous sponsors, they're nearly there!
Bells Produce in Kaitaia has gone the extra mile to keep Trekkers supplied with fruit.
Dad's Pies will be feeding Trekkers and the kids of Tauhoa School - as long as the Wallies don't eat them all along the way.
Kellogs has donated enough Nutrigrain to feed the kids of Northland.
And Silver Fern farms will keep the meat eaters happy.
Many thanks, everyone!

Police Blue Light Charity takes on Road Trek for Kiwi Kids!
January 08, 2017
Trillian Trust and the police-partnered youth charity Blue Light have announced they will get behind the annual road-trek non-competitive car rallies that raise funds for disabled and disadvantaged Kiwi kids, and bring fun and entertainment to back-blocks schools each year.
For 26 years called the Variety Bash, the event will now operate under the Trillian Trek banner.
Trillian Trek coordinator Murray O’Donnell says, “We couldn’t run the event without logistical support from generous supporters like Trillian, and we couldn’t reach the most vulnerable children without a charity to manage the logistics and the millions of dollars we raise.
To have Blue Light on board can help us reach the children who truly need our help."
The Police charity is already familiar with the Trek format of non-competitive charity road rallies, as the famous Bryan and Bobby Safety Show has often joined the crews as they reach children in back-country New Zealand.
